ambidextrous
Able to use both hands equally well for tasks.
Ambidextrous means being able to use both your right and left hands equally well for tasks that most people can only do well with one hand. An ambidextrous person can write neatly with either hand, throw a ball accurately with either arm, or use scissors comfortably whether they're designed for righties or lefties.
Most people strongly favor one hand: about 90% of people are right-handed, and about 10% are left-handed. But a small number of people are truly ambidextrous. Some athletes train to become ambidextrous in their sport. A baseball player might practice batting from both sides of the plate, or a basketball player might work hard to dribble and shoot equally well with both hands.
You might also hear ambidextrous used figuratively to describe someone who's skilled in two different areas, like a student who excels at both math and art, though this usage is less common than the literal meaning of using both hands.
