bespoke
Custom-made especially for one person’s needs or wishes.
Bespoke means custom-made or specially created for a particular person. The word originally described clothing made by a tailor specifically for you, fitted to your exact measurements rather than bought off the rack at a store. When you order a bespoke suit, the tailor takes your measurements, asks about your preferences, and creates something that fits only you.
Today the word has expanded beyond clothing. A software company might create bespoke programs designed for one specific client's needs. An architect might design a bespoke home built around how a particular family wants to live. A jeweler might craft bespoke rings incorporating stones that matter to the customer.
The key idea is that something bespoke is made for you specifically, not mass-produced for everyone. Your school uniform is not bespoke, but a Halloween costume your grandmother sews just for you is. A video game everyone downloads is not bespoke, but a programmer might write software to solve your robotics team's specific problem.
Bespoke suggests quality, attention to detail, and the luxury of having something made exactly the way you want it. It costs more than buying something pre-made, but you get exactly what you need.
