biter
Someone who bites people or animals with their teeth.
A biter is someone who bites, especially someone who bites other people. Young children sometimes become biters when they're frustrated or don't yet have the words to express their feelings. They might bite a playmate who took their toy, not realizing how much it hurts. Teachers and parents work patiently to help biters learn better ways to communicate.
The word can also describe animals that bite frequently or aggressively. Mosquitoes are notorious biters, leaving itchy red bumps on your skin. A dog that's known as a biter might snap at people who come too close, which is why such dogs need special training and careful handling.
In slang, a biter is someone who copies another person's style, ideas, or work and pretends it's their own. If a rapper accuses another of being a biter, they're saying that person stole their lyrics or sound. A classmate who always copies your art project ideas might earn a reputation as a biter. Unlike legitimate inspiration or learning from others, a biter takes credit for someone else's originality without giving credit.
