clickable
Able to be clicked or tapped to make something happen.
Clickable describes something on a computer screen or digital device that you can click or tap to make something happen. When a word, button, or image is clickable, it means your mouse cursor or finger can interact with it to open a new page, start a video, download a file, or trigger some other action.
On websites, clickable links often appear in blue or underlined text, signaling that clicking or tapping them will take you somewhere new. Buttons that say “Submit” or “Play” are clickable. Even images can be clickable: clicking a photo might enlarge it or open a gallery.
Before touch screens, everything clickable required a physical click of the mouse button. Now we also tap clickable elements on phones and tablets.
Not everything you see on a screen is clickable. Regular text that's just meant to be read, decorative images, or background colors usually aren't interactive. Good website design makes it obvious which elements are clickable and which aren't, so users don't get frustrated clicking things that don't respond. When you're building a presentation or website, making the right elements clickable helps your audience navigate and understand your content.
