destination
The place you are going to at the end.
A destination is the place you're trying to reach at the end of a journey. When your family plans a road trip to the Grand Canyon, the Grand Canyon is your destination. When you board a plane to visit your grandparents in Florida, Florida is your destination.
People use destination in different ways. A tourist destination is a place many travelers want to visit, like Paris or Yellowstone National Park. A package's destination is the address where it needs to be delivered. In stories, heroes often have a destination they must reach, even when the journey gets difficult or dangerous.
Sometimes the journey matters as much as reaching your destination. A hiker might enjoy the trail through the forest even more than arriving at the summit. But having a destination gives your journey purpose and direction. It's what helps you decide which turns to take and keeps you moving forward when the path gets tough.
