A classroom with students of disparate skill levels has some who struggle with basic concepts while others race ahead, which can make it challenging to teach everyone effectively. When someone tries to combine disparate ingredients in a recipe, like pickles and chocolate, the results might be disappointing because the flavors clash rather than complement each other.
