easy
Not needing much effort, skill, or struggle to do.
Easy describes something that doesn't require much effort, skill, or struggle to accomplish. When a math problem is easy, you can solve it quickly without getting stuck. When a teacher gives an easy assignment, most students finish it without needing help.
Easy can describe physical tasks (climbing an easy trail with gentle slopes), mental challenges (an easy puzzle with obvious clues), or even people's personalities (someone with an easy, relaxed manner who doesn't create drama or stress).
The word carries different feelings depending on context. Sometimes easy sounds great: who doesn't want an easy day? But sometimes calling something easy can feel dismissive. If you tell a friend their accomplishment was easy, you might hurt their feelings by suggesting it wasn't impressive. What seems easy to one person might be genuinely hard for another.
Phrases like “easier said than done” mean something sounds simple when you describe it but turns out to be difficult in practice. And “take it easy” means to relax or not push yourself too hard. When something comes easily to you, like drawing or math, that can be a special strength to build on.
