exuberance
An overflowing, very energetic feeling of joy and excitement.
Exuberance is an overflowing feeling of joy, energy, and enthusiasm. When you feel exuberant, you're bursting with excitement that spills out in big smiles, loud laughter, or energetic movements. Picture a puppy greeting its owner after a long day, tail wagging so hard its whole body wiggles. That's exuberance.
You might see exuberance when a soccer team scores the winning goal and players leap into the air, hugging and cheering. A younger sibling shows exuberance on their birthday morning, racing downstairs to see presents. Scientists working on a difficult problem for months might display exuberance when they finally crack it, jumping up from their desks with shouts of triumph.
When something is described as exuberant, it shows this same overflowing quality: exuberant decorations might cover every surface, and exuberant plants grow thick and lush.
Exuberance differs from quiet contentment or calm happiness. It's visible, energetic, and hard to contain. While being exuberant all the time would be exhausting, those moments of pure, overflowing joy make life memorable.
