fixable
Able to be fixed, repaired, or made right again.
Fixable means capable of being repaired or corrected. When something breaks or goes wrong, whether it's a physical object or a problem, the question is: can it be fixed? If the answer is yes, it's fixable.
A broken bicycle chain is fixable: you can repair or replace it. A math error on your homework is fixable: you can erase it and try again. Even difficult situations can be fixable. If you've hurt a friend's feelings, the friendship might feel damaged, but it's usually fixable through a sincere apology and changed behavior.
The word carries a sense of hope. When a mechanic says your family's car trouble is fixable, everyone feels relieved because it means the problem has a solution. When a teacher says the mistakes in your essay are fixable, she's telling you that with some work, you can improve it.
Not everything is fixable, though. A burned cake can't be unburned. Some mistakes have lasting consequences. But many problems that seem overwhelming at first turn out to be fixable with patience, effort, and the right approach. Recognizing whether something is fixable helps you decide whether to work on repairing it or accept it and move forward.
