grudgingly
In a resentful, unwilling way, showing you do not want to.
Grudgingly means doing something unwillingly, with resentment or reluctance showing through. When you act grudgingly, you're doing what's asked, but your attitude makes it clear you don't want to.
Imagine a student who grudgingly helps clean up the classroom after an art project. They're doing it, but they're sighing heavily, moving slowly, and perhaps muttering under their breath. Or picture a player who loses to the other team and grudgingly admits their opponent made a great play, when they'd really rather not give credit at all.
When you do something grudgingly, that grudge seeps into your actions. You might grudgingly share your favorite snack, grudgingly apologize when you know you're wrong, or grudgingly admit that your sister's idea was actually pretty smart.
Notice the difference from simply being reluctant. You might reluctantly try a new food because you're nervous about the taste. But you'd grudgingly try it if you're annoyed that someone's making you. The word captures both the action and the sour mood behind it.
