gushy
Very emotional and overly enthusiastic when talking about something.
Gushy describes someone who expresses their feelings in an overly emotional or enthusiastic way, especially about things they love or admire. When your friend gets gushy about her favorite singer, she might talk endlessly about how amazing every song is, using words like “incredible” and “perfect” over and over. A gushy thank-you note might say things like “You're the most wonderful, amazing, spectacular person ever!”
The word comes from gush, which originally described water flowing out suddenly and forcefully, like when you turn on a faucet full blast. When feelings gush out of someone, they pour forth without much control or restraint. A movie review that gets too gushy might lose credibility because the reviewer sounds more like a superfan than someone offering an honest opinion.
