Humorless describes someone who struggles to find things funny or see the lighter side of situations. A humorless person might not laugh at jokes others find hilarious, or they might take everything so seriously that they miss the fun entirely.

The word also describes things that lack humor entirely. A humorless speech contains no jokes or amusing moments. A humorless movie stays very serious from beginning to end, never offering viewers a chance to smile or laugh.
