lazily
In a slow, low-effort, and not very hardworking way.
Lazily means doing something without much energy, effort, or urgency. When a cat stretches lazily in a patch of sunlight, it moves slowly and without any hurry. When someone completes their homework lazily, they're doing it in a halfhearted way, putting in the minimum effort rather than their best work.
The word describes both physical movement and mental effort. A river might flow lazily through a meadow, winding gently with no rush. On a summer afternoon, you might swing lazily in a hammock, moving just enough to stay cool. But lazily can also describe someone avoiding work they could be doing, or someone who lazily leaves a mess for others to clean up.
There's a distinction worth noting. Resting after hard work isn't lazy. Moving slowly when you're tired or injured isn't lazy. Laziness means choosing not to put in effort when you could. A bee drifting lazily from flower to flower on a calm day is simply moving at its own pace.
