listless
Having no energy or interest in doing anything.
Listless means having no energy or enthusiasm, like you're just drifting through the day without any spark. When you feel listless, you don't care much about doing anything: homework seems pointless, your favorite games feel boring, and even fun activities can't grab your interest.
Picture a hot summer afternoon when you're sprawled on the couch, too sluggish to even pick up a book. That heavy, droopy feeling where nothing sounds appealing: that's being listless. It's different from just being tired. When you're tired, sleep helps. When you're listless, you lack motivation and spirit even after resting.
People often feel listless when they're sick, sad, or stuck in a rut. A classroom might seem listless on the day before a long vacation, with students slumped over their desks, barely paying attention. A listless performance in a soccer game means the players are going through the motions without real effort or heart.
