A mastiff is an enormous, powerful dog bred centuries ago to guard estates, hunt large game, and protect livestock from predators like wolves and bears. Picture a dog so massive that it might weigh as much as a full-grown man, with a broad head, droopy jowls, and a deep, rumbling bark that can make strangers think twice about approaching.
