praiseworthy
Deserving praise or admiration for good actions or effort.
Praiseworthy means deserving praise or admiration because of good qualities or actions. When something is praiseworthy, it's worthy of being recognized and celebrated.
A praiseworthy effort might be a student who struggles with math but works hard every day after school to improve, even when it's frustrating. The effort itself deserves recognition, whether or not the grades improve immediately. A praiseworthy decision might be returning a wallet you found instead of keeping the money inside. Praiseworthy actions often require courage, integrity, or perseverance, like standing up for someone being teased, admitting a mistake when you could have stayed quiet, or finishing a difficult project when you wanted to quit.
Notice that praiseworthy doesn't always mean perfect or successful. A soccer team that loses the championship game can still show praiseworthy sportsmanship by congratulating the winners and supporting each other. What makes something praiseworthy is the character and effort it reveals, not just the outcome. When you do something praiseworthy, you've acted in a way that reflects well on who you are and the values you hold.
