proposer
A person who suggests an idea or plan for others.
A proposer is someone who puts forward an idea, plan, or suggestion for others to consider. When you propose something, you're the proposer: the person who brings the idea to the table and asks others to think about it or vote on it.
In formal settings like student council or a town meeting, the proposer is the person who officially introduces a motion or proposal. If you suggest that your class should have a pizza party fundraiser, you're the proposer of that idea. The proposer doesn't necessarily make the final decision, but they start the conversation and often explain why their idea matters.
In debates and formal discussions, being the proposer means you typically speak first and carry the responsibility of explaining your position clearly. A skilled proposer thinks carefully about how to present an idea so others will take it seriously and give it fair consideration.
