prosperity
A state of having success, plenty, and doing well.
Prosperity means having success, wealth, and good fortune. When a family enjoys prosperity, they have enough money to live comfortably, with food on the table, a safe place to live, and opportunities to pursue their dreams. When a business experiences prosperity, it's making money, growing, and creating jobs.
But prosperity also captures a sense of flourishing and thriving that goes beyond bank accounts. It includes the quality of life and well-being in a community. A prosperous town might have good schools, busy shops, safe streets, and neighbors helping each other. A prosperous time in your life might be when things are going well: you're learning, making friends, and feeling confident about the future.
When farmers talk about a prosperous harvest, they mean the crops grew well and there's plenty to sell or eat. When someone wishes you prosperity, they're hoping your efforts succeed and good things come your way.
You'll often hear about economic prosperity, which describes when a whole country or region is doing well financially. During times of prosperity, more people have jobs, businesses open, and communities can afford to build parks, libraries, and other things that make life better.
