pug
A small, flat-faced dog with a wrinkled, cute face.
A pug is a small dog breed with a distinctive wrinkled face, bulging eyes, and a short, curled tail. Pugs have stocky bodies covered in short, smooth fur, usually fawn (light tan) or black. Their flat, pushed-in faces give them a permanently worried or curious expression that many people find adorable.
Originally bred in ancient China as companions for emperors and nobles, pugs were designed to be friendly lap dogs rather than working animals. They're known for being playful, affectionate, and sometimes stubborn. Because of their flat faces, pugs snort and snore more than most dogs, and they can overheat easily in hot weather.
Today, pugs remain popular pets for people who want a small, devoted companion with lots of personality in a compact body.
