saleswoman
A woman whose job is selling things to customers.
A saleswoman is a woman whose job involves selling products or services to customers. She might work in a store helping shoppers find what they need, visit businesses to sell equipment and supplies, or call potential customers to tell them about her company's offerings.
Good saleswomen understand what people want and need. They listen carefully to customers, answer questions, and explain how their products solve problems. A saleswoman in a shoe store might notice you're training for track and recommend running shoes with good support. A saleswoman who sells educational software might visit schools to show teachers how her company's programs help students learn math more effectively.
The job requires genuine interest in helping people, patience, and the ability to communicate clearly. Saleswomen need to know their products well enough to explain features and benefits convincingly. They also handle rejection gracefully, since not every customer will buy, and that's just part of the work.
While saleswoman specifically refers to a woman in sales, you'll also hear salesperson (which applies to anyone) and salesman (for a man). Some companies use titles like sales representative, account executive, or sales consultant instead. The core work remains the same: connecting customers with products or services that meet their needs.
