scoopable
Able to be easily picked up with a scoop or spoon.
Scoopable describes something that can be easily gathered up with a scoop or spoon. Ice cream is perfectly scoopable when it's soft enough to form into round balls but not so melted that it slides off the scoop. Cat owners look for scoopable litter that clumps together when wet, making it easy to remove with a slotted scoop and keep the litter box clean.
The word suggests a particular texture: not too hard, not too liquid, but somewhere in between. Cookie dough is scoopable when you can use a spoon to portion it out into neat mounds on a baking sheet. Mashed potatoes reach their most scoopable state when they're creamy but thick enough to hold their shape.
You might hear someone say that frozen yogurt is “perfectly scoopable” right out of the freezer, meaning it has that ideal consistency where the scoop glides through smoothly. When something isn't scoopable, it's either too hard (like ice cream straight from the freezer) or too runny (like melted ice cream).
