snobbishness
The attitude of looking down on people you think are lesser.
Snobbishness is the attitude of thinking you're better than other people because of things like money, education, taste, or social status. A person showing snobbishness might refuse to be friends with someone because their clothes aren't expensive enough, or might mock someone for not knowing about classical music or fancy restaurants.
Today, a snob is anyone who looks down on others for not meeting their standards. Someone might be a music snob who insists only certain bands are worth listening to, or a food snob who wrinkles their nose at simple meals.
You might encounter snobbishness in someone who refuses to sit with certain kids at lunch, or who brags that their family's vacation was better than someone else's.
