thank
To show you are grateful for what someone did.
To thank someone means to express gratitude for something they've done for you. When you thank your friend for helping you with homework, you're acknowledging their kindness and effort. When you thank your mom for making dinner, you're showing appreciation for her work.
When you thank people, you're recognizing what they did and letting them know it mattered. You might thank a teacher for explaining something clearly, thank a neighbor for returning your lost ball, or thank a librarian for helping you find a book.
A simple “thank you” can make people feel valued and noticed. You can thank someone with words, a note, or even actions. Sometimes people send a thank-you card after receiving a gift. Other times, helping someone in return becomes a way of showing thanks.
