tomorrow
The day that comes right after today.
Tomorrow is the day that comes after today. When you go to sleep tonight and wake up, that new day will be tomorrow. If today is Monday, tomorrow is Tuesday. If today is your birthday, tomorrow won't be your birthday anymore.
People use tomorrow when making plans or promises: “I'll finish my homework tomorrow,” or “Let's play basketball tomorrow after school.” But tomorrow can also mean an uncertain future time, like when someone keeps saying they'll clean their room tomorrow but never quite gets around to it.
The word appears in a famous line from Annie, the musical about an optimistic orphan: “Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow, you're only a day away.” Annie's song captures how tomorrow represents hope and possibility. Whatever went wrong today, tomorrow can offer a fresh start.
