unimpressed
Not feeling amazed or excited by something meant to impress.
Unimpressed means not affected, moved, or influenced by something that was supposed to be impressive or special. When you're unimpressed, something fails to make the impact it was meant to have. If a magician performs a trick you've seen a hundred times before, you might remain unimpressed. If someone brags about beating a video game level that you found easy, you'd probably be unimpressed by their boasting.
The word suggests a certain neutrality or mild disappointment. Being unimpressed doesn't mean you're angry or upset, just that whatever happened didn't live up to expectations. A teacher might be unimpressed by an essay that shows little effort, or a coach might remain unimpressed by a player's performance during tryouts.
Sometimes people try hard to impress others and fail. A student might show off their new skateboard tricks, hoping everyone will think they're amazing, but if the tricks are basic ones everyone already knows, their friends might be unimpressed. The word captures that gap between what someone hoped would happen (amazement, admiration, excitement) and what actually happened (a shrug, a yawn, or quiet indifference).
Being unimpressed isn't necessarily unkind. Sometimes it just means you've seen better, know more, or have higher standards.
