unvalued
Not appreciated or recognized for how valuable someone or something is.
Unvalued means not appreciated or recognized for one's worth. When someone feels unvalued, they sense that others don't notice or care about their contributions. A hardworking student who never gets thanked for helping clean up the classroom might feel unvalued. A friend who always listens but never gets listened to in return might feel the same way.
The word can also describe something whose true worth hasn't been discovered or acknowledged. An unvalued antique sitting in someone's attic might actually be rare and precious, but nobody realizes it yet. A scientist's unvalued research might solve an important problem years later, even though people ignored it at first.
Feeling unvalued is different from actually being worthless. The value is there, but it isn't being recognized.
